MUSIC MASTER CLASS ARTIST

My musical studies augmented training at the Merola Young Artist Opera Program at San Francisco Opera, the Young Artist Program-the Metropolitan Opera and the American Institute of Musical Studies-Graz, Austria all of which prepared me for the classical stage. The passion for singing help to create an extensive repertoire spanning opera, oratorio, musical theatre, jazz, the Negro Spiritual and Contemporary genres. As a freelance concert artist with solo performances throughout multiple cities in more than 35 states throughout the continental United States, prestigious college campuses including the University of Veracruz, Tuts, Indiana-South Bend, Penn State, Rice University, University of Michigan, Wake Forest and Occidental University. Performances abroad include Western Germany, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and South Africa. University faculty appointments include Johnson C. Smith, Fayetteville State, Grambling State and Southern University-Shreveport. Honors and awards include Distinguished Graduate in Music from Prairie View A&M University, Presidential Citation in Performing Arts from N.A.F.E.O-Southern University, nominated for Who’s Who in America in the Performing Arts , San Francisco Opera first recipient for the Leontyne Price Award, Resolution by Texas House of Representatives declaring my voice a “State Treasure.” Today, coming full circle as a Shreveport Regional Arts Council Fellowship Winner and Juried Artist representing Northwest Louisiana.
